University of East Anglia UEA

Course overview

The University of East Anglia MSc Data Science course is designed to train professionals to become highly skilled data analysts, equipping them for careers in many industries that rely on large-scale data use. The programme provides a strong practical and theoretical foundation in data mining and statistics, with an opportunity to specialise through optional modules in areas such as artificial intelligence, information visualisation, or programming.

Students in this course will learn through lectures, seminars, and lab sessions, which will ensure hands-on experience with statistical and data mining software. Students’ progress will be assessed through individual and group written work, practical demonstrations, examinations, and a key element of the course is an individual dissertation project, which may involve working with an industrial partner.
