LLM International Minerals Energy Law and Policy
Course overview
This 12-month Master of Laws (LLM) course studies how the minerals industry changes due to the growth of environmental and sustainability concerns. It examines the key role this field plays in the energy transition by offering the necessary components. The course helps students understand how the industry operates and how it moves towards a more sustainable future.
The learning focuses on the regulatory and contractual environment of the minerals industry, following how mining rights are given, the production process, and site closure. Assessment is through coursework and a final key research project (thesis). The programme is run by the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law & Policy (CEPMLP), and students do not need to be lawyers to apply.
