BA Sport Management
Course overview
This degree is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and has a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) recognised degree status. It prepares students for a career in all areas of sport management, including event management, digital marketing, and fan engagement.
A major highlight of this course is that students have guaranteed work placement hours at the University's professional football club partner, Derby County FC, which will give them real experiences. Students will benefit from real learning opportunities with several sport organisations. Students will also benefit from professional mentoring from a CMI Chartered Manager or a DCFC representative.
Completing the required modules means students will also be awarded a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership with their degree at no extra cost, which will boost their management qualification after graduation.
Entry requirements
Candidates need to submit a personal statement and relevant information regarding their studies, an academic and/or employer reference, and their CV to show their work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- Candidates need 104 UCAS points, including A-levels at BCC or a BTEC at DMM.
- Other International qualifications equivalent to an A-level are also accepted.
- A grade 4/C or above GCSE in Maths and English is accepted.
English Proficiency:
- Candidates need an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS Academic test, 5.5 in each component.
- Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT, are accepted, amongst others.
