Course overview

This undergraduate Biology degree is approved by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB). The course is designed to give students an extensive knowledge of life sciences. Students will study many subjects, from the most basic parts of a cell to large-scale topics such as ecology and global biodiversity. This comprehensive approach helps students discover their main interests, such as molecular biology, fieldwork, or conservation.

The programme places a strong emphasis on developing hands-on, practical, and scientific skills needed for a future career. Students will learn through a blend of theory classes and practical work in the laboratory. Their final grades will be determined mainly through coursework, such as research reports and presentations, rather than traditional exams. Students also have the option to take a four-year route that includes a preparatory Foundation Year.
