LLM International Dispute Resolution

Course Overview

The LLM International Dispute Resolution programme combines research and practice to prepare students for their careers in law by giving them an understanding of how to resolve disputes in international law. The course covers core subjects such as commercial, human rights, and environmental law. It teaches students about international legal systems and the institutions that govern them.

This programme teaches students to use legal databases effectively and understand the importance of academic integrity, including how to reference sources correctly. The course core modules include settlement of international disputes, international commercial arbitration and litigation, investment treaty arbitration, transitional human rights and climate change litigation, and the LLM dissertation.

Students will learn through lectures, seminars, group discussions and debates, presentations, and virtual workshops, and then be assessed with written reports, research essays, oral presentations, and a final dissertation.
