LLB Law With Foundation Year

The LLB Law with Foundation Year is a course designed to equip students with a basic legal education. The introductory foundation year is made for students who do not meet the standard qualification to enter the main degree. The foundation year will train them with the necessary academic skills and subject knowledge before they start the main law degree.

This approach gives all students a chance, whether they qualify or do not qualify, to study their full degree. This course will allow students to explore their interests in areas such as Medical Law and Ethics, Family and Child Law, Immigration and Asylum Law, Aviation Law, and International Human Rights Law.

The curriculum covers areas of English law, which will give students an understanding of the legal system and concepts and how it works in practice. Students will be assessed through coursework, essays, examinations, and group projects. Students will develop skills that will help them after completing the course, including confident communication and presenting arguments effectively.

Grade Requirements:

• 32 - 48 UCAS tariff points, including A-level C - B and Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma.
• An Access Diploma course.

English Proficiency:

• IELTS score of 4.5 overall in all sections.
• Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL iBT, are accepted.

The university offers various scholarships for international students. Students who are starting with an International Foundation Year can get £1,000 off tuition fees. Those applying with A-level or IB results might be eligible for a £3,000 discount on tuition fees each year. Some courses, like Art & Design, Psychology, Sport, and Criminology, might qualify students for bigger scholarships of up to £6,000 off tuition fees each year. There is also a merit award that can give £1,000 off the first year's fees if the student meets certain criteria. The Vice Chancellor's Scholarship can give new students, mainly postgraduates, a £1,000 discount on their first year's fees if they're not already getting another scholarship. Early tuition fee payment can qualify a student for a £500 discount.
