The LLB Law degree at the University of Bedfordshire is a programme that covers the English legal system and allows students to choose from optional subjects that interest them, such as Medical Law, Family Law, Immigration Law, Aviation Law, and Human Rights Law. The course helps students build skills in presenting strong, convincing arguments. It covers all the foundational subjects needed for the next professional stage of Bar training.
The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX), which allows students to apply for a job as a legal executive after graduating. The course is designed to meet the guidelines of the National Association of Licensed Paralegals (NALP), which means students will get a double qualification, one from CILEX and another from NALP.
Students will develop professional skills, such as finding and using legal sources, preparing legal materials, and presenting cases. The course focuses on professional integrity, confidentiality, and ethics. Assessment is done through written assignments, examinations, oral presentations, and a final dissertation of legal research with support from a supervisor.
