BSC Forensic Science With Foundtion Year
Course overview
The BSc Forensic Science (with Foundation Year) is the entry point if you are interested in the field of crime-scene investigation but do not meet the typical qualifications required to begin a full degree. This four-year course begins with a foundation year that equips you with the fundamental skills and knowledge you will need to succeed. It is a standard way to build your academic abilities, and also helps you connect what you have already learned to the challenging work and high expectations of a science degree.
This course takes a close look at how biology and chemistry are used in the criminal justice system. From the analysis of DNA and toxicology to criminal psychology and fire investigation, you will get hands-on experience in the university’s state-of-the-art facilities. The practical approach means you will learn in a professional setting that mimics the real world, where you will practice presenting your findings as an expert witness. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be well-prepared to apply for professional roles in this highly competitive field.
