Bedfordshire International Foundation Year Engineering

The Bedfordshire International Foundation Year (Engineering) at the University of Bedfordshire is designed to help students develop an understanding of the theory and practices associated with the scientific principles of mathematics, physics and chemistry needed to study engineering. Students will cover the fundamental principles of engineering design and the mathematical theories applied to engineering.

The Foundation course supports students in choosing the most relevant degree as they begin their undergraduate studies. Completing this pathway allows students to progress to a bachelor's degree in engineering, such as construction management, automotive engineering or mechanical engineering. The course also focuses on improving students' ability to use the English language accurately in reading, speaking, listening and writing.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants are expected to have at least 32 UCAS tariff points with qualifications equivalent to A-level or BTEC Extended Diploma.

English Proficiency:

• Students must demonstrate English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 4.5 (or equivalent) in the four components of reading, writing, speaking and listening in order to gain admission to this course.

The University of Bedfordshire offers several scholarships to help students with their studies. These include Excellence Scholarships of £2,500 per year for three years, Achievement Scholarships of £500 per year, and a £1,000 scholarship for international students in their first year. Other scholarships are available, including those for high achievers and students from specific countries.
