BSc Psychology with Health

Course Overview

Building a strong urge to study and also be in the health scene, this three-year full-time course offers you the ability to research health and how psychology applies to the modern world. Our BSc (Hons) Psychology with Health is designed to lead to a variety of professional roles. As part of this, you will explore core psychological perspectives to better understand the human mind and behaviour, and to develop your reflective skills. Alongside exploring theory in the classroom and its application to contemporary societal challenges, you will also have practical opportunities to develop your research skills in our state-of-the-art psychology lab.

Practical work-based learning outside of the University and additional training around mental health are all included in this course, and you will study three bespoke modules exploring contemporary applications of theory, to study behaviours relevant to health, healthcare, and illness.

About University

University College Birmingham is a university in Birmingham, England. It was awarded full university status in 2012. The university is located in central Birmingham and offers both vocational and academic education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The university was founded as part of Birmingham's Municipal Technical School (predecessor of Aston University) in the 19th century but became a separate College of Bakery, Catering, Domestic Science and Associated Studies (later Birmingham College of Food and Domestic Arts) under the control of Birmingham City Council in 1957. It relocated to its present site in Summer Row from Brasshouse Passage in 1967, with the official opening taking place in 1968.

It was renamed the Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies (BCFTCS) in the 1980s to reflect the breadth of its courses at the time. Its name was changed again, to University College Birmingham (UCB), in 2007.
