MPAS Physician Associate Studies
Course overview
The Master of Physician Associate Studies (MPAS) is a two-year, full-time programme designed to prepare graduates to work as Physician Associates within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The course is the only one of its kind in South Wales to receive full approval from the General Medical Council (GMC), preparing students for roles in hospitals and GP surgeries.
The programme employs an innovative spiral curriculum, which uses a system-based approach to clinical learning and provides early clinical exposure in the first year to embed scientific understanding with real-life patient interactions. Students are assessed through coursework, presentations, single best answer examinations, and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
