BSc Business Management Tourism

Course Overview

This degree programme gives students the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience they need for good jobs in the worldwide travel and tourism industry. The course looks at the increasing need for digital advancements in the sector and covers specific business areas like human resources, how customers behave, marketing, and data analysis. 

The course also includes practical elements such as creating brochures and uses real-world situations, including live projects from the industry, where students apply what they've learned to actual business problems. 

Students also get chances to set up their consulting services to help existing tourism companies. Learning and assessment include coursework, assignments that require evaluation, creating digital portfolios, in-class tests, presentations (both on your own and in groups), and exams, all designed to check your understanding and skills thoroughly.

Entry Requirements

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

  • Applicants typically need A Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma at MPP, BTEC Diploma at MM, T Levels, or International Baccalaureate. 
  • A-level equivalent international qualifications are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • International students need to demonstrate English language proficiency by having an overall IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
  • Equivalent English test scores, like PTE and TOEFL, are also accepted.

Cost of Study

For international students, the annual tuition fee for undergraduate courses is £16,750.

Scholarships

Staffordshire University offers several bursaries and scholarships to help its undergraduate students, with each award having specific application and eligibility rules. Available support includes the Denise Coates Foundation Bursary and the Bertarelli Bursary, both offering financial aid to new and current students.

Additionally, students might benefit from the Ashwin Kagdadia Scholarship, providing financial help for three years, or the University of Staffordshire Cost of Living Scholarship for eligible UK students from lower-income backgrounds. The Creative Opportunity Award also assists students with their final projects or industry event participation.
