Course overview

The BSc Sport Science and Management combines exercise science topics with business and strategic skills needed for the global sports industry. Students study areas such as exercise physiology, sport psychology, strategic management, and marketing.

They apply their academic learning to live briefs set by professional partners, including football clubs and national sports centres. The programme allows students to specialise in their interests with plenty of optional modules from Year Two onwards, covering everything from talent development to finance.

Students are assessed with coursework, group projects, practical lab reports, client interviews, written essays, and formal examinations. Students can also work towards a CIMSPA Personal Trainer qualification.

Entry requirements

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement, provide relevant information about their studies, an academic and/or employer reference, a CV to demonstrate their work experience, and attend an admissions interview.

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates need 120 UCAS points from four qualifications, including an A-level or equivalent in PE or a Science subject.
  • Other International qualifications equivalent to an A-level are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates need to score at least 6.0 overall, including writing in the IELTS test, with any other component below 5.5.
  • Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT tests, are accepted.
