BEng Sport Engineering

Nottingham Trent University

Course overview

The BEng Sport Engineering at Nottingham Trent University offers students the chance to engage in sport engineering from the beginning. This includes participation in real-life projects and the annual Grand Challenge, which enhances problem-solving and engineering skills. The sport engineering field is emerging rapidly, aimed at addressing challenges related to sport, health, and exercise, drawing significant interest from professional sports, sportswear manufacturers, and health technology developers.

Students will design and develop sport technology concepts, tackling projects from organisations aiming to optimise training programs and athletic performance. Students have recently taken steps to improve sports equipment by using industry-standard software, designing helmets, and reverse engineering commonplace items. Moreover, the programme benefits from strong industry connections, providing students with access to internships and collaborations within the sport and wellbeing sectors.
