Foundation Year in Business

The Foundation Year in Business at Middlesex University acts as a stepping stone for students who want to pursue a full business degree but may not yet have the required qualifications or feel fully prepared for degree-level study. It's also suitable for those returning to education who want to refresh their skills before starting a degree. 

Students enrol on a four-year programme which includes this one-year foundation course, and on successful completion, can directly advance to one of the university's three-year degree courses.

Throughout the foundation year, you will develop essential skills in business, communication, and problem-solving. You will be supported by personal tutors, student learning assistants, and academic assistants who are experts in their subjects. 

Middlesex University offers various degree options after successful completion of the foundation year, including BA Business Management, BA International Business, BA Business Management (Marketing), BA Fashion Marketing, BSc International Tourism Management, and BA Marketing and Digital Communications.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants are required to have A Levels (DEE), BTEC Extended Diploma at MPP, T Levels, or International Baccalaureate. 
• A-level equivalent international qualifications are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

• If English is not your first language, you will generally need an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 overall, with no score lower than 5.5 in any section. 
• The university also accepts other official English language qualifications, such as PTE and TOEFL.

The tuition fee for international students taking the Business Foundation Year at Middlesex University is £16,600.
