Course Overview

This Middlesex University Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation BSc (Hons) degree trains students to work in injury prevention, treatment, and recovery. Students learn how to assess, treat, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries. The course includes exercise therapy, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, clinical skills, and rehabilitation techniques. Real-life practice is built in through clinical placements and the use of professional sports facilities.

Graduates are prepared for roles in sport, health care, fitness, or further study. The full-time degree lasts 3 years, based at the Hendon campus. There is no foundation year for this specific course. A sandwich (placement) year may be possible between Years 2 and 3 for work experience. The programme includes many hours of clinical/practice work, using laboratories, clinics, and sports-performance settings such as StoneX Stadium, and in partnership with clubs like Tottenham.

Teaching includes lectures, seminars, labs, workshops, and placement/clinical work. Students learn through hands-on practice in rehabilitation and performance labs. Assessment methods, include assignments, practical tests, presentations, portfolios, lab/clinic reports, and sometimes viva or practical exams. Feedback is regular, so students can improve. The facilities include modern sports labs, motion capture, clinical spaces, and a strong partnership with local clubs for placements and applied work.
