BSc Nursing Adult

Course Overview

The BSc Nursing (Adult) course at London Metropolitan University trains students to care for adult patients in a range of settings. Students learn how to assess patient needs, deliver safe care, and make sound decisions under pressure. Real-life nursing skills are taught through lectures, practical sessions, and placements in hospitals or care homes. The course is designed to help students develop compassion, respect, and confidence, so they are ready to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council at the end of the training.

Students build knowledge year by year. They learn about anatomy, long-term health conditions, mental health, community nursing, and leadership. Each year includes practical placements. These placements let students gain work-based experience under supervision. They learn to think, act, and care like real nurses. They are assessed using written assignments and practical skills tests. Students must show that they can plan and deliver care safely to pass and move forward after each training.

About University

London Metropolitan University came into being in 2002 when London Guildhall University merged with the University of North London. Today, the university has campuses at Holloway and Aldgate, both in central London. Holloway has modern labs, a science centre, newsrooms, a mock courtroom, and a student venue called The Rocket. Aldgate hosts art, design, and architecture workshops. The university stands out for welcoming all students, whatever their background, and supporting them with strong teaching and campus life.

Teaching at London Met is practical and supportive for the students studying here. Many courses include placements or client work from year one. Teachers use real examples from their work or industry links to make lessons up-to-date. Students can get help from academic mentors, the library, learning skills teams, and the Student Union. This support helps students succeed and feel safe and confident in their studies.
