MSc Psychology in Education

The Liverpool John Moores University MSc Psychology in Education is a conversion course aimed at those who did not focus on psychology at the undergraduate level, yet would like to enter the profession as a practising psychologist or a researcher. The programme equips a student with a knowledge base in core fields of psychology, including the social, cognitive and developmental psychology, with an emphasis on how all these can be applicable in an educational context.

This course aims to achieve the development of advanced research skills training in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Students in this course learn through lectures, seminars, and practical lessons and are assessed through essays, reports and case studies, which assist them to have such skills, which are useful for employers.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants need a second-class honours degree or higher. A 2:2 award or higher is the minimum requirement.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to possess an English certificate at IELTS 6.5 level (with a minimum of 6.0 in each component) or an equivalent qualification. 
• Applicants who have completed a UK-based degree within the last two years are exempt from this requirement.

For international students taking the MSc Psychology in Education at Liverpool John Moores University, the tuition fee is £18,250 per year.

The International Achievement Scholarship provides a £3,500 tuition fee discount for eligible international postgraduate students.
