BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Foundation Year

Course Overview

Liverpool John Moores University’s BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering course offers a year of lectures (through the Foundation Year) in modules that can help students build, develop, and maintain electrical and electronic systems. The course is also called elect-elect engineering, which teaches students the basics of electronic design. They will also learn how to build circuits that generate electricity to power homes and industries, do proper instrumentation, carry out microprocessing, and understand how appliances function.

The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience and is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). It prepares students for careers in the energy, transport, telecommunications, and electronics industries. Students benefit from access to quality laboratories and opportunities to apply their learning to real projects. Learning is delivered through lectures, tutorials, and laboratory work. Assessment includes examinations, coursework, lab reports, and a final-year project.
