BSc Biomedical Science

Course Overview

The BSc Biomedical Sciences at Leeds Trinity University will allow students to gain an in-depth understanding of how the human body works by studying the molecular, cellular and organ-level processes. They will learn about the pathological changes that occur in disease,  the methods used to aid diagnosis, and some of the latest technologies applied by biomedical scientists to improve diagnoses and treatments.

They will study the underlying issues of disease and how to apply this understanding to diagnosis and treatment while developing the practical laboratory skills needed to pursue a biomedical science career in a range of disciplines. In their final year, students will carry out their research project and explore how research can be applied to commercial settings.

They will be taught by research-active academics and have the opportunity to conduct research alongside these biomedical science experts as part of their degree. Alongside laboratory training,  they will also use computer techniques involved in the field and how they are applied across the pharmaceutical industry.
