BEng Robotic Engineering and Artificial Intelligence

Course Overview

The Kingston University BEng Robotic Engineering and Artificial Intelligence course is created to help meet the increasing need for graduates with skills in this field. The course teaches students the foundational methods for making robots, from simple electronic circuits and software design to complex robot intelligence.

In this course, students learn how to design and create robot systems, from the early hardware stages to putting advanced AI software into use for real-world tasks. 

In the first year, students will design, build, and programme a small mobile robot, supported by classes on introduction to robotics, digital electronics, programming, maths for AI, and professional engineering.

  • For the BEng programme, applicants typically need 128-144 UCAS points including A-levels, BTEC National Extended Diploma or International Baccalaureate. Other international qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no individual element below 5.5. Other accepted English language qualifications, like PTE, can also be submitted.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/2026 academic year, the annual tuition fee for international students taking the Robotic Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at Kingston University is £18,500 for year 1.

Scholarships

There are various scholarship opportunities to support both UK and international students at Kingston University. International students may be eligible for International Scholarships, which provide up to a £5,000 reduction in tuition fees for the first year. Other opportunities include specific scholarships for certain nationalities and the Chevening Scholarships.
