BEng Aerospace Engineering Space Technology

Course Overview

BEng Aerospace Engineering (Space Technology) at Kingston University is a three-year degree with an optional placement year. The Royal Aeronautical Society approves it and meets the requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.

This course prepares students to work towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, studying Space Technology key areas like aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, dynamics and materials, and later move on to space-focused topics like Space Vehicle Design and Space Mission Analysis and Design in their final year.

Students learn both theory and practical skills and work with wind tunnels, flight simulators, rocket labs, CNC machines, and 3D printers. They also take part in real flight tests using a flying lab aircraft and are assessed through online tests, lab reports, practical work, exams, and project portfolios with a feedback system given through group discussions, draft work and peer reviews.

Entry Requirements for Indian Students

Candidates for the BEng Aerospace Engineering (Space Technology) in Kingston University must submit a personal statement explaining their reasons for applying and relevant academic or professional experience. Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants require BBC–ABB grades at A‑level, including Mathematics and two Science subjects to reach 112–128 UCAS tariff points.
  • Applicants with a BTEC Extended Diploma in engineering or related subjects, such as Aerospace, Mechanical, with DDM–DDD are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates without an English-speaking background need an IELTS score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
  • An equivalent Secure English Language Test (SELT) is also accepted

Cost of Study

The BEng Aerospace Engineering (Space Technology) at Kingston University international students pay a tuition fee of £18,500 in the first year, rising in each subsequent year.
