Entry Requirements

  • Applicants need to show proof that they have completed a research project or a course on research design and analysis.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need a bachelor's degree with at least a 2:2 grade or an equivalent degree from outside the UK in a relevant subject. 
  • Various backgrounds like psychology, business, sociology, and politics are accepted, but strong skills in statistics or math are required.

English Proficiency:

  • International students whose first language is not English should have an IELTS score of 6.0. They should also score at least 5.5 in each skill, except for writing, which needs to be at least 6.0.
  • Students can also submit other approved equivalent tests or sign up for the university's English language courses to help them meet the requirements for this programme before they start their studies.

Cost of Study

International students planning to enrol in the Heriot-Watt University MSc Business Psychology programme for the 2025/26 year should expect a tuition fee of £21,192. For part-time students, the fee is £10,596. Please be aware that these rates may be adjusted every year.

Scholarships

Heriot-Watt University provides several scholarships and discounts for international students. The International Merit Scholarship has over £500,000 available for students paying international fees who enrol in January or September 2025. This scholarship rewards those with good grades and varies by region.

The Norway Early Bird Scholarship offers financial help for students from Norway. If students accept their offer by April 1, they can get £6,000. Those who accept between April 1 and May 1 can receive £3,000. The university also helps its former students with the Alumni Discount Scheme. This scheme gives a 20% discount on postgraduate taught courses at all global campuses. It is available only to alumni who studied for at least one year in a Heriot-Watt degree programme.
