LLM International Commercial Law and Practice

The De Montfort University LLM International Commercial Law and Practice is for students who are interested in learning how to assess the main and modern areas of international commercial law. Based on the research conducted at the university, the course looks at the theory and practice of international commercial law and how well the legal processes work at regulating commercial transactions. It also offers an insight into research procedures in this field and allows students to learn from a team of legal experts.

This full-time programme adopts a new block instructional model in which the students are allowed to undertake one module at a time. Some of the topics that the curriculum addresses are contractual relationships in international trade, intellectual property and regulatory issues such as competition laws. Students are taught to critically analyse various aspects of international commercial law to come up with solutions to contemporary issues.

Grade Requirements: 

• Applicants are normally expected to have a degree with a minimum pass of 2:2 or an equivalent overseas or professional qualification.

English Proficiency: 

• If English is not the applicant's first language, an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each band is required. Other equivalent test scores, like PTE, are accepted.

For the 2025/26 academic year, the tuition fee for international students taking the LLM International Commercial Law and Practice at De Montfort University is £18,450.
