MSc Aerospace Materials
Course overview
The Cranfield University MSc Aerospace Materials programme equips students with specialist skills for improving and designing new materials for future aircraft and spacecraft. The course addresses environmental impact and sustainability within the aerospace sector, providing access to teaching and research focused on decarbonising aviation. It also develops knowledge-based skills to support innovation and entrepreneurship, which are important for long-term career prospects in clean technology.
A significant part of the course involves research, with a wide selection of industry-led projects. This provides students with increased exposure to employers and allows them to gain experience in real-world applications. The course includes taught modules, a group project (which is a dissertation for part-time students), and an individual project. Delivery methods include lectures, workshops, case studies, tutorials, and company visits, all within the context of industrial application.
