MSc Advanced Practice Audiology
Course overview
The MSc Advanced Practice (Audiology) is a specialist pathway within the MSc Advanced Practice in Healthcare programme, designed to develop autonomous, reflective practitioners engaged in advanced clinical practice. The full-time Audiology pathway can be completed in 15 months and focuses on the four pillars of advanced practice: Clinical Practice, Research and Audit, Leadership and Management, and Education.
The core curriculum is complemented by specialised modules such as Balance Disorders and Rehabilitation, Paediatric Hearing Impairment, and Advanced Diagnostic Audiology and Rehabilitation. Assessment methods are practical and profession-focused, including portfolios, presentations, reflections, reports, and case studies — with no unseen written examinations.
Entry requirements
Applicants must submit a personal statement explaining their motivation for applying, as well as an academic and/or employer reference. A CV outlining relevant professional experience is also encouraged.
Grade Requirements:
- A relevant first degree (normally at 2:1 or above).
- At least two years of recent and relevant professional experience in an appropriate healthcare setting.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be considered for modules or professional development activities completed previously.
English Proficiency:
- IELTS Academic: Overall score of 7.0, with no component below 6.5.
- Equivalent SELT or other accepted English qualifications are also considered.
