MSc Psychology

Course Overview

The MSc Psychology (Conversion) is a fulltime, campusbased oneyear master's programme which is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and designed for students without an accredited psychology degree. 

You will gain grounding in core areas of psychology, complete a research methods and statistics module, engage in applied tasks, and carry out an independent research project to be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership.

Assessments are done through essays, portfolios, reports, presentations, podcasts and the research project. The mix of taught modules and research work prepares graduates for careers or further study.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must submit a personal statement explaining their reasons for applying and a reference from their academic or employer, with an option to include a CV to show relevant work experiences.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need a Bachelor’s degree with at least a 2:1 in any subject (nonpsychology or nonaccredited psychology).
  • Applicants with a lower class may be considered based on their professional experience, personal statement and references.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates who do not speak English need at least IELTS 6.5 overall with 5.5 in each section.
  • Candidates with an equivalent Secure English Language Test score(SELT) will be accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the MSc Psychology for international students is £15,500 per year.
