BSc Occupational Therapy

This BSc in Occupational Therapy is a professional course that will prepare students to work with people who have physical or mental health problems. The programme combines classroom learning with hands-on practice, encouraging a creative approach to helping patients get better. Students will learn how a person's biology, mind, and personal life affect their health and ability to do daily activities. The course is built around four main themes: Occupation, Enquiry, Professional Performance, and Practical Skills.

The course is taught through a combination of practical work, small group discussions, and lectures. Students' progress will be checked in many ways to get them ready for a career, including writing essays, taking practical exams, giving presentations, and working with patients in real-life settings. The main goal of the course is to give students the skills they need to become registered occupational therapists.

Brunel University London is a research-focused university with all its buildings on one campus in West London. The university is known for being modern and having strong connections with different industries. Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other useful information about their education. Candidates are required to have a satisfactory health declaration, and all shortlisted applicants will be interviewed.

Grade Requirements:

• Candidates need A-levels at grades AAB-BBB, including a grade B in a relevant subject like Biology or Psychology.
• The university also accepts a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma with DDM or an International Baccalaureate with 30 points.
• Candidates must also have five GCSEs at grade C or grade 4 or higher, including English Language and Maths.

English Proficiency:

• The required level of English proficiency is met by the above qualifications. The university may consider students who have taken other English language qualifications.
• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds must have an IELTS score of at least 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.5 in all sections) or a Pearson score of 59 (with a minimum of 59 in all sub-scores).

For the BSc Occupational Therapy programme, the tuition fee for international students is £22,320.

Brunel University London offers several financial support options and scholarships. International students may be eligible for a £3,000 Undergraduate International Bursary and a Dean's International Scholarship, which offers a £2,000 fee waiver per year.

Graduates can apply for registration with the UK Health and Care Professions Council to work as occupational therapists. The programme prepares graduates for work in various settings, including:
