BEng Engineering
Course overview
The BEng Engineering at Bangor University gives students a strong foundation in engineering. It teaches both the theory and practical skills needed for a successful career. The course covers many topics like materials science, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and fluid dynamics. Students study key areas of engineering, such as mechanical, civil, electrical, and systems engineering. They also learn to use important software like AutoCAD, MATLAB, and SolidWorks, which are commonly used in the industry.
At the start, students take basic modules in subjects like mathematics, physics, and engineering mechanics. As they move forward, they can choose elective modules based on their interests. Some of the later topics include advanced materials, control systems, structural design, and energy systems. The course also includes practical lessons, group work, and individual assignments. Students are assessed through exams, coursework, and projects. They also work in teams on projects that mimic real-world engineering tasks. Alongside these theoretical studies, the course places a strong emphasis on practical learning. Students participate in lab sessions, group projects, and individual assignments that allow them to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. This helps them improve their teamwork and project management skills.
