MSc Health Social Policy

Course Overview

The MSc Health & Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde enables students to develop their knowledge and understanding of how key health and social policies and outcomes are connected, while also providing training in research methods. During the programme, students will learn about the factors that shape people’s health and wellbeing, as well as how different societies and governments have worked to influence these relationships.

The course provides students with a good understanding of health and social policy challenges, the connection between these challenges and health policy, and approaches to address these issues.

The programme also offers opportunities for students to undertake a placement-based dissertation module, exploring advocacy and research challenges in partnership with non-governmental organisations (NGO), policy bodies, or academic research teams.

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

Interested candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are expected to have a first or upper second-class Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in health or social policy or a related discipline.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds usually need an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four components.
  • Alternatively, equivalent qualifications like PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for international students on the MSc Health & Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde is £21,550.
