MSc Autonomous Robotic Intelligent Systems

Course Overview

The University of Strathclyde MSc Autonomous Robotic Intelligent Systems is an interdisciplinary course which is offered by the Departments of Electronic & Electrical Engineering and Design, Manufacturing & Engineering Management. The course is designed to help equip you with the applied and industry-relevant skills that you need to succeed in robotics, smart manufacturing, and intelligent systems design.

The programme provides advanced knowledge of autonomous systems and machine learning, alongside hands-on experience in areas like the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0. The learning is a blend of in-person and online methods, including lectures, tutorials, and project-based laboratory sessions.

Students undertake compulsory and optional modules, culminating in an MSc Project from May to August. In this course, your progress will be assessed through coursework, research and design submissions, and exams.

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement, a relevant academic and/or employer reference, and their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants normally need a first-class or second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) in electronic, electrical, communications, or design manufacturing engineering, or a related science subject.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency. A standard requirement is an IELTS score of 6.0-6.5 overall, with no individual section score below 5.5.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the MSc Autonomous Robotic Intelligent Systems at the University of Strathclyde is £31,100 for international students. Please note that fees are subject to an annual increase.

Scholarships

The University of Strathclyde provides a number of scholarships to assist students. For example, international (non-EU) students starting in September 2025 are eligible for a £5,000 scholarship, which will be automatically applied to their tuition fees. There are also faculty-specific awards, such as the Dean's International Excellence Awards in the Faculty of Engineering, which offer a scholarship of £7,000 to £10,000 for high-achieving international students.
