BBA Business Administration
Course overview
This BBA (Hons) in Business Administration, taught at the University of Strathclyde, is a three-year honours degree. It is an “accelerated” version of the standard four-year BA Business degree. In Year 1 of BBA, students cover material usually taught in Years 1 and 2 of the four-year course. Years 2 and 3 correspond to Years 3 and 4 of the longer BA. This lets students complete in less time while still having options to specialise. Strathclyde Business School holds AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accreditations, making the course recognised by many employers worldwide.
In the first year, students cover core subjects like accounting, finance, marketing, economics, human resource management, operations, and strategy. They also join the Leadership Development Programme to build teamwork, communication and ethical business skills. In years two and three, students choose their specialism and take more advanced modules in that area, along with electives and applied work via case studies, group projects and guest lectures. Students learn through lectures, seminars, workshops, group work, and real business cases. They also do project work, presentations and assignments. Assessment includes exams, written reports, coursework, group projects, peer assessments and learning journals.
