Solent University
Overview for International Students
Solent University was founded in 2005 and is located in Southampton, England. Teaching is based at its Southampton City Centre campus, so students study within the city itself. As of 2021, the university had 11,340 students, giving international students the chance to join a sizeable community.
Courses are organised across a range of departments and schools. These include the Department of Business and Law, the Department of Science and Engineering, the Department of Sport and Health, the Department of Art and Music, and the Department of Film and Media. There are also the School of Technology and Maritime Industries, the School of Health and Sport, and the School of Business, Law and Society.
Study is available at undergraduate and taught postgraduate level, alongside short courses and continuing professional development (CPD). Solent can therefore suit students starting a first degree, graduates moving on to further study, and professionals looking to build their skills through shorter courses.
English Requirements
IELTS 6 overall is the typical English language requirement across this university's courses; individual courses may ask for more.
