BSc Physiotherapy

Wrexham University

Course overview

This three-year course will train students to become skilled, independent physiotherapists. They will learn how to assess people and help them improve and restore their ability to move and function in everyday life. The course has been approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

A considerable part of this programme involves finishing 1,000 hours of hands-on experience in hospitals and care centres within North Wales and Powys. Students will learn together with other healthcare students and be assessed in several ways, such as writing essays, practical tests (called OSCEs), placement assessments, and vocal exams (called VIVAs). If students qualify, they may get a full NHS bursary to pay for their course fees and living expenses, which requires them to work in Wales for an agreed time after graduating.
