BSc Computer Game Development with Foundation Year

Course Overview

This programme is designed to prepare you with the technical and project management skills needed to enter the games industry. You will develop technical skills in a variety of programming languages and software, and you will learn to implement complex mechanics in game products. The course focuses on practical assignments, which will enable you to build a professional portfolio to demonstrate your skills. You will also work with the latest tools and technology in specialist game development studios, covering the full spectrum of game production, from design to programming and art.

Over the course of your studies, you will work on significant group game projects, using industry-standard management methods. The assessment is project-focused, with no formal exams. Instead, you will be evaluated on the production of digital games, technical reports, and presentations. You will also be taught by games industry professionals who will provide you with valuable insight into the profession.

Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

To be enrolled, applicants are required to submit an application that includes a personal statement, a relevant academic reference, and their CV to show work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants generally need between 48 and 72 UCAS tariff points from qualifications such as A Levels, BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma, Scottish Highers, or International Baccalaureate Diploma.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need an overall score of 6.0 in IELTS (with no individual skill score below 5.5) or must submit an equivalent test score.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the 2025/26 academic year for international students is £11,750 per year.

Scholarships

Wrexham University offers a variety of scholarships and bursaries to assist students with their studies. The First Generation Opportunity Scholarship is available for undergraduate students who are the first in their families to attend university. This is a £1,000 cash award, and a limited number of these scholarships are available. The university also offers a Care Leaver Award and other grants depending on an individual's personal circumstances.
