BSc Biomedical Science with Foundation Year

The BSc Biomedical Science programme focuses on understanding human health and disease through a multidisciplinary scientific approach. Students study the body’s systems at the molecular, cellular, organ, and systemic levels, gaining insight into how diseases develop and how they can be prevented or treated.

The programme covers core subjects such as biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, physiology, and haematology — taught by an international team of academics actively involved in research. Learning is practical and experiment-based, equipping students with strong analytical and laboratory skills. The course also benefits from close links with Ipswich Hospital and is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).

Applicants must submit a personal statement, an academic and/or employer reference, and a CV outlining their educational background and experience.

Grade Requirements

• 112 UCAS tariff points, including A-levels, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications in Biology or another science-related subject.
• Other international qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted.
• GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 4/C or above.

English Proficiency

• IELTS: Overall score of 6.0, with no component below 5.5.
• PTE Academic and TOEFL iBT are also accepted.
