BSc Biomedical Science

The BSc Hons Biomedical Science course offers a high-level scientific education that combines science with medicine. The programme focuses on subjects like biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, and pharmacology. Its goal is to teach students how the human body functions and to help them create new diagnostic tools or treatments for illnesses.

Students will learn through different methods, including lectures, practical classes, tutorials, and computer-based learning. In their final year, they will complete their own research project to showcase their research and problem-solving skills.

Grade Requirements:

• For entry to the first year, applicants typically need to achieve a minimum of BBB at A Level. This must include two science subjects, with at least one being Biology or Chemistry.
• For Scottish Highers, the standard requirement is AABB, including a B in both Biology/Human Biology and Chemistry.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from a non-English speaking background are required to demonstrate their English language ability.
• The standard requirement is an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no individual component score lower than 5.5.

The annual tuition fee for international students for the BSc Hons Biomedical Science programme is £27,800.

The university offers a number of scholarships for international students. These include a Faculty of Science Undergraduate Scholarship for new international students, which can be valued between £5,000 and £7,000 per year. Additionally, all eligible international, self-funded undergraduate students automatically receive a scholarship equivalent to a 10% reduction of their tuition fees each year.
