The BA Business and Management (Foundation Year) at the University of South Wales is designed to support students who may not yet meet the standard entry requirements for a full degree or who are returning to education and want to build their academic confidence. The University of South Wales (USW) is a forward-thinking institution, formed in 2013 from the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

To gain entry onto this course, applicants typically need to have achieved a minimum of 48 UCAS tariff points. This can be obtained through qualifications, such as two A Levels at grade DD, a BTEC Extended Diploma with overall grades of Pass Pass Pass, or a BTEC Diploma with two Pass grades. 

Those applying with an Access to HE Diploma should have passed the course and achieved at least 48 UCAS tariff points. T Level applicants are expected to have achieved an overall Pass, with a grade of D or E.

English Proficiency: 

International applicants are expected to show proof of proficiency in English by having an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. TOEFL score of 72 with a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking, and 17 in writing or equivalent is also accepted. 

Cost of Study

The tuition fee to study Business and Management (Foundation Year) at the University of South Wales is £15,850 per year. This is, however, provisional and subject to change.

Scholarships

The University of South Wales extends a range of scholarship opportunities to help international students manage the cost of their education. Among the key awards is the Chancellor’s International Development Scholarship, offering a tuition fee discount of £2,500 per year for eligible students. Students who are CAS-ready by 31st May for September entry or 31st October for January/February entry may also qualify for the Early CAS Scholarship, which applies an additional £500 fee reduction annually.

EU nationals are eligible for the EU Student Scholarship, allowing them to pay tuition fees at the same rate as UK home students throughout their course. These scholarships are automatically applied based on academic performance or application timing, reinforcing the university’s dedication to supporting students worldwide.
