BSc Computer Science
Course overview
The BSc Computer Science with Foundation Year at the University of Roehampton is a four-year full-time programme (foundation year and three years of honours study). The foundation year is created to help students develop important academic, computing, mathematical, and study skills that will help them in their full degree.
In the foundation year, students are introduced to important topics such as programming, mathematical reasoning, digital literacy, and academic communication. After they complete the foundation year, students move on to start the standard BSc Computer Science degree. This is when they study modules in software engineering, databases, computer systems, networks, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and more.
Learning is through lectures, seminars, workshops, and lab sessions. Assessment is through coursework, exams, lab work, analysis and report writing, gamified assessments, group projects, and a final-year project.
