BSc Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation with a Foundation Year

University of Kent

Course overview

The BSc Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation with a Foundation Year at the University of Kent teaches students how to find, treat, and prevent sports injuries in both athletes and everyday people. They will learn about the body structure (anatomy), how the body works (physiology), soft tissue methods, and general clinic skills. The course is approved by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators (BASRaT), which means graduates meet a high professional standard.

Students must complete a minimum of 400 hours of practical work experience (placement) in places like local sports teams and the University's own student-run injury clinic. Their teaching takes place in special, purpose-built facilities, including a Strength and Conditioning Lab and teaching clinics. The first year, called the Foundation Year, helps them get ready for the degree by teaching them the main subjects like biology, chemistry, and scientific methods.
