BSc Forensic Science with a Year in Industry

University of Kent

Course overview

The BSc Forensic Science with a Year in Industry at the University of Kent is a four-year programme that teaches the scientific skills needed for crime scene investigations and courtroom procedures. It is a sandwich course, meaning that the third year is spent on a professional, paid work placement in a related industry. It is fully recognised by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, ensuring its high professional quality.

Students gain knowledge and experience through realistic, simulated crime scenes and mock court cases held in advanced laboratories. Assessment is done through written examinations, presentations, and coursework, like incident analysis. Students also complete an independent research project based on scientific investigation in their final year.
