MEng Mechanical Engineering
Course overview
The MEng Mechanical Engineering is an integrated Master’s degree designed to develop commercially aware, creative, and professional engineers from the very beginning of the course.
The programme emphasises project-based learning, giving students opportunities to plan, build, and test their own prototypes in specialised facilities such as the FabLab.
This advanced qualification is fully accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and meets the academic requirements for achieving Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
Students develop strong theoretical foundations in areas such as mathematics for engineers, programming, and thermo-fluids, alongside practical experience gained through manufacturing workshops.
As the course progresses, students move on to advanced study in materials, fluid mechanics, and engineering management. An optional industrial placement year is available, offering valuable real-world experience prior to graduation.
