BSc Biomedical Science With Foundation Year
Course overview
This four-year degree commences with a foundation year, built for applicants who do not meet the entry requirements for direct entry onto the three-year course. This year is used to create basic academic skills and strengthen students' knowledge in science subjects, which include Foundation Chemistry and Biological Sciences. Completing the foundation stage allows easy progression to the accredited BSc (Hons) degree.
Students will learn through a combination of classroom study, practical sessions, and laboratory work. Assessment includes written exams, practical skills tests, and coursework such as assignments and research projects. The final three years of the programme are approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), equipping students for a career in life-saving health research and pathology labs.
