Course overview

The University of Greenwich MSc Food Innovation with Industrial Practice builds students' skills for innovation in the food industry, combining coursework on product development, safety, and sustainability with a one-year industrial internship.

The curriculum covers areas such as marketing, risk analysis, food microbiology, and packaging, and includes modules that explain Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles recognised by the Royal Society for Public Health. They also learn how to produce standard food, which is good for consumption, as well as apply new techniques to food production.

In addition, this course will benefit entrepreneurs who want to develop their own food-based businesses. Learning is through lectures, laboratory exercises, workshops, and group projects, and students are assessed through classroom presentations, discussions, case studies, critical review, examinations, and a final project.
