BSc Forensic Toxicology

University of Greenwich

Course overview

The BSc Forensic Toxicology (and Sandwich) at the University of Greenwich will educate students for careers in forensic science, hospitals, or research labs. The relevance of drug use and abuse in forensic casework cannot be emphasised enough, with the millions of chemicals in existence.  This course will help students to understand the effects of these substances on the body and the methods for detecting them.

The BSc Forensic Toxicology (and Sandwich) at the University of Greenwich will combine both school and work experience. Students will be able to study for a period of time, then work in a related field and later return to school to complete their studies.

Students will graduate with the strong quantitative and analytical skills necessary in forensic toxicology. Among many topics, they will learn about many different types of drugs, how they act on the human body, how they are detected, how to report evidence of drugs, and defence arguments used in the court of law.
