BSc Biomedical Science

University of Gloucestershire

Course overview

This bachelor's degree in biomedical science is very modern and focuses on medical progress. From the start, students get hands-on experience in the laboratory, looking at topics like genetics, infection, and cancer medicine. The course was created with NHS (National Health Service) labs and is approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).

Teaching involves a series of health laboratory challenges led by both academic and NHS staff, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of illness. Students have the opportunity for short internships or a year-long placement in a UKAS-accredited NHS lab to complete the training needed to become a registered biomedical scientist.
