BSc Forensic Psychology
Course overview
The BSc Forensic Psychology at the University of East London (UEL) is a three-year full-time undergraduate degree. Students explore the links between psychology, crime, and the legal system. The programme also covers core psychology topics, including cognitive and developmental psychology, biological and social individual differences, research methods, and applied psychology. The aim is to provide students with both theoretical and practical insight into how psychological knowledge is used in criminal justice settings. It combines core psychology training with forensic specialism and practical work.
During the final year, students work on a significant research project in forensic psychology, take core modules such as Advanced Forensic Psychology, and may choose optional modules in health psychology, cyberpsychology, addiction, or developmental psychology. Students learn through lectures, seminars, practical workshops, group work, and a work-based learning module. Assessment is varied, including essays, presentations, lab/field reports, case studies, group work, reflective practice, and some exams. The final year research project is a key feature.
