BSc Psychology with English Literature

University of Buckingham

Course overview

This accelerated degree combines the science of human behaviour (Psychology) with the detailed study of literary texts (English Literature). The course shows how psychology will help students to understand the minds of writers and the characters in their books, leading to a professional Bachelor of Science qualification. Since the BSc Psychology with English Literature at the University of Buckingham is approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS), graduates can move on to further study to become a Chartered Psychologist if they achieve the minimum required passing grade.

Students gain from the University's special teaching style, which features lectures and seminars along with small-group tutorials. The main subjects cover all areas of psychology, including the biological and social aspects of human behaviour, plus courses on fiction and poetry. Students will be graded through written coursework, essays, and presentations over the two years, helping them gain essential skills in research and analysis.
