MA Filmmaking

Course Overview

The MA Filmmaking at Sheffield Hallam University is designed to provide students with the professional knowledge and skills to become filmmakers, directors, and producers. Students will develop their creative and technical production skills while gaining a strong understanding of the film industry, graduating as employable and well-connected filmmaking practitioners.

 

They will engage in an in-depth exploration of films and filmmaking practices from around the world to inspire their development. Following an industry-standard research and development process, students will learn to pitch their ideas in a professional setting.

 

Working collaboratively under the guidance of experienced filmmakers,  students will create their own major film project and present it at a dedicated film festival.

Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

You are required to submit a strong portfolio of work, a personal statement explaining your reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding your studies. You also have the option to upload your CV to show your work experience.

  • You need a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree, or its equivalent, in any subject area.

English Proficiency:

  • International applicants whose first language is not English must have an  IELTS score of 6.0, with no individual component scoring below 5.5.
