BA Honours Business

Course Overview

The BA (Honours) in Business is designed to equip students with the essential business skills required to excel in leadership roles within innovative and rapidly evolving organisations. The course strongly focuses on helping students develop sustainable and responsible management practices, ensuring that they are prepared for the challenges of modern enterprises. 

The course covers main business topics such as planning how a business will grow, guiding teams, running daily operations, and understanding how a business earns money. In this course, students learn through various teaching methods, including lectures, group discussions, and personal help from tutors. 

Students also gain real-world experience in companies, participate in real-world business change and consultancy projects, and use online materials for study. The main way students are tested on what they have learned is through coursework, which allows for a full assessment of their knowledge and abilities.

Entry Requirements

Those who wish to join the course need to provide a personal statement where they explain why they want to study the course and other details about their past education. A relevant letter of support from an academic referee or an employer is also needed. Students can choose to include their CV when they apply, to show any relevant work experience they have.

Grade Requirements: 

  • Applicants usually need between 112 and 120 UCAS points, including A Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma at MPP, BTEC Diploma at MM, T Levels, or International Baccalaureate. 
  • A-level equivalent international qualifications are also accepted.

English Proficiency: 

  • Students from countries where English is not the main language need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall. They also need at least 5.5 in each part of the test. 
  • Other similar test results, like PTE and TOEFL, are also accepted by the university.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for the BA (Honours) Business programme at Sheffield Hallam University for the 2025/26 academic year is £17,155.

Scholarships

Sheffield Hallam University offers various scholarships and financial support for students at all study levels, including undergraduates, postgraduates, and international students. This assistance covers specific groups such as those leaving local authority care, individuals pursuing nursing or allied health professions, and talented student athletes.
